Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Vaccine

The FDA has also approved a vaccine for the virus, which causes Feline AIDS.  FIV is an infection that attacks the immune system of cats. Up to 1 in 12 cats tests positive for FIV. In cats that are at risk or clinically ill, the infection rate rises to as high as 15%. Since FIV infection results in immune deficiency, there are no classic or pathognomonic signs associated with the disease itself. In fact, many FIV positive cats have no specific clinical signs.
